Firstly, hello there.. first time poster, fairly new troll. Avid enthusiast looking to get into the WWG movement.

I am currently muddling around with an idea to run the Pathfinder Campaign: Curse of the Crimson Throne. And of course trying out some WWG kits! I have never really constructed a WWG model before, but I'm very impressed with everything I've seen. These Xmas sales really have me thinking...

There is a location that reminds me quite a bit of the Himmelveil Harbormaster kit that is currently available. I was planning on purchasing it and using it. However, I have a few concerns regarding that kit. Specifically, if it is flexible enough to take on the dimensions of the location's floor plan. (The layout is a good deal wider and just a touch longer).

I get the impression that the floor plan for Harbormaster is very much "fixed" as opposed to some of the other open-ended kit designs. Can you be a bit more modular with this one? Does anyone have any experience with this kit?

Like I said, I've got no experience with this stuff - I just stumbled upon kitbashing as well, but I don't know if that is what I'm looking for? I might just end up using Thoumonts... but thematically harbormaster is what i'm looking for.

The Harbourmaster set is modular in terms of which levels to use and how to stack them, but each floor is built to fit a 7"x7" base.

For what you want, is likely to be a far better option. It has massive modularity/flexibility in 3"x3" and 6"x6" pieces that can be combined in almost any way imaginable. As well as gridless, it comes with 1" and 1.5" floor grids - depending on which scale you use it can build down to 2 or 3 square widths.

Thanks for letting me know about the 7x7.. yes.. my mind is exploding with the possibilities for Thoumont's TLX. It could also take on many more builds as the campaign evolves.

I have a question about the TLX floor tiles. It seems that it is ideal to have a foamcore base to glue and fold on. The foamcore cut looks like a jigsaw puzzle. Is there any template floating around for this cut or is it an eyeball thing?

I must say that I'm impressed with the attention to detail and the engineering of the tlx pieces.
