Hi all, started working on my templates. Seemed a good start as i cant find the pens i bought to edge, so that will have to weight till monday.

Also need more foamcore. 10 sheets of A3 wasnt enough. Need to do a 3x3 board, so will probably need another 2 boxes.

Decided to buy the Planner its helping me visualise what i need to get.

Also i have a few questions.

1- for raised areas of Himmelveil do you - put tiles and walls down so that you can then balance tiles and walls on top? ive looked for a guide but im failing.

Actualy thats it for the moment, i thought there were more but they have dissapered into the void.

oh i remeber

2- can you put a L post and an L post back to back so they form a T post without it getting messed? Basicaly, ill be having a wall on one tile butting up to the back of a house and i want to be able to remove the house without affecting the rest of that area. If you follow me.

Can't wait to see pics as you get going. As for your questions:

1) A second floor will rest nicely on the posts to hold it up. I try to use the anti-warp walls -- the ones with the triangular flap at the top -- as support walls around the edges. If you have interior walls, that will just add to the support. You can even rest a tile on top of nothing but posts if you had to, though posts on their own are a little wobbly.

2) An "L" post as you call it... that's the 2-way post or corner post... You can certainly put them in each adjacent corner, so you can pull the building away. I just tried putting four corners up against each other, each with a corner post on it, and it seems OK -- I thought it might get a little cramped but it seems fine.

Well the cuttings been going, its not the funnest job but it gives me something to do whilst i wait for paper.

Worked my way through 9 sheets of A3 ive got

18 6x6 all cut out and done
19 3x6 waiting for there notches to be removed
16 3x3 waiting for there notches to be removed

Numbers are about

Made up a street tile, there seems to be some discrepency with the edges wrapping round 5mm foamboard. Any good suggestions on how to fix this, whilst still using 5mm foamboard.

Edges are 1/4" (that's 6mm?) but will work on 3/16" (that's 5mm?) foamcore just fine. When you fold the flaps over to glue, work hard to just get the edges nice and square. The corners should line up at nice 90-degree angles.

Just been reading that for some advice on how to get rid of the dimple/hollow/whatever.

It seems like its one of those things that seems like it would be a big deal till experience teaches you otherwise.

Just printed out a bunch of floors to build some houses. That went well. Then i thought right i need to make the posty things for the walls.

There are so many in thoumonts. Do they all have different uses?

Im talking textures not the number of thingys that come off them.

Welllllll.....

Heres the start of a wobbly ground floor.

Going to use superglue now to attach anchors and fix the posts together.

Also I wont try freehand cutting the slots out of the posts, must use ruler

Well its good to get soemthing made, have some more bits printed, tommorow ill try and get more assembled but ive also to cram enough reading for a game of Trail of Cthulu in the evening. So at the latest there will be more after the weekend.

I freehand cut the slots in the posts, if you have a long enough blade you can do it quite easily. I find the corner posts the hardest to make straight, they just don't seem to sit on the one anchor square enough.

Woo hoo got some more done. Printed all the stuff out for the ground tiles. Got all the foam tiles cut out.



And managed to get all the 3x3 done

Still need to do the edging, but i thought id get experience at cutting them out and assembling them first.

Its good to see some stucture made out of these

Great start! Next time, I suggest edging first. You will see why when you go to edge those. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more pics soon.
