Arena Works has to have been the most frustrating set for me in a strange way - I ended up helping to build 2 Blood Bowl stadiums using it, but neither one was for myself, nor even from my own set! (And in the case of the first one I didn't even get to see it all at once, just what we were building that day.)

It was over two months before I finally bought it for myself, telling myself that I would use it 'soon'... as months passed.

And now I am planning out a quick (?) arena for use in Mordheim. Arena Works is the basis for it of course, and I have settled on an elongated octagon, with barracks built into the rear wall, while admission is up exterior stars to a bridge.

I am intending to make it modular, attaching the modules to foam core bases that can be used in sections. Currently my plan is to have the bulk of the arena as one piece, while the wall that contains the Grand Gate can be removed so that the figures may be reached more easily. There may also be some secondary structures as well.

I am keeping it simple, I will be using it Wednsday after next.

Has anyone else used it in Mordheim, and have you come up with fun rules?

Enties may be voluntary or involuntary, voluntary pay for admission, but get to keep the prize if they win, involuntary (traded in by an opposing warband, or just a bad roll on the injury table) din't get charged any money, but they also don't get any prize beyond survival if they win.

I am thinking about introducing 'Bow Night' Spectators may purchase cheap, weak bows and are encouraged to use them on the opposing fighters below. No other weapons are allowed in the stands.

Creature fights of course.

No chariots, this is a small arena.

And teams.

Anyway, I thought that I would go fishing for ideas.
