Know how you feel cypher, I'm down to a couple of weeks before a con here and I'm still kit bashing a keep. I'm pretty close to having it finished, but always prefer to have the whole model complete by now.

I'm just worried I'm going to run out of ink or cardstock and then need to buy more!

Today's progress report:

Limited progress today unfortunately, thanks to the better half joining the 'falling down stairs' club.

It's typical, every time I plan to start a major project, she gets hurt, falls ill etc....

Still, she has redeemed herself by starting to help out with building a propane tank while convalescing.

Between printing two more road sections (& kanelinx templates), the propane tank, mucking around with grafitti and oil spills in photoshop and cutting out the walls for the first flat, I didn't get that much done...

I also devoted some thought to better internal strength for the flat. I have a couple of ideas, but this is very much a work in progress. It will likely involve lots of foamboard and much cursing

edit: Almost immediately after finishing typing the above, the propane tank reached the first gluing stage along the long tab. Glue was applied and the tube fitted together. It then became quite clear that the circular ends are not big enough; therefore trimming & test fitting is in order after reprinting and before glueing.

Internal reinforcement for flats...hmmm.

How about something simple, like two diagonal pieces of cardboard (nothing fancy, you know that spare box the latest UPS guy dropped off). The size can be calculated or simply cut to fit. The two pieces can be joined by cutting a half height slot in each piece and then sliding them together. Part of this is later storage too, as the pieces can be slid out and stored flat. Another aspect of this is that if you really need to unwarp a wall with craft sticks, you still can as this crosspiece will only touch at the corners.

Hmmm..... internal support you say How about this for a fix to the support problem. Use the extra foamcore bits as I did in the pic

Well let me begin onight's update by apologising for not updating last night. Yesterday I got the flat reinforced and built (sans roof).

Today we start to see real progress. The Two additional straight road sections and the concrete tile for the propane tank are now done, the flat is fully assembled and the ruin (from Rezolution) with a SOM wasteland tile base is finished.

5 tiles in 3 days. Not too bad. If I got off the web and put down the 360 for a while I could probably double that.

On a different note, I have discovered on unpacking the old mayhem stuff that the glue is coming apart. Yes, this is UHU office pen glue. I guess I must have used too much as it's gone sticky again. Anyone else encountered this problem?

Pics were also going to be forthcoming, but I discovered my camera batteries are deader than the dodo. So, pics will appear tomorrow instead!

Well, after finishing the additional tiles, I did 2 things - forgot to photograph it, and didn't bring most of the buildings back from the con

We just had too much stuff to carry, and not enough pairs of hands.

Mayhem will return, but unfortunately probably not until the new year when I have more storage space available.

I will post some pics of what survived (the newer stuff mainly)
