I just got around to mounting my floor tiles for the caveworks set. I have a stockpile of used foamcore boards from the larger display boards you see used for science fairs and business displays from my last place of employment - the glued everything on and then after a year, there were 10 of these that were obsolete and tossed in the trash - well, in my trunk anyway. Well, I measured and cut based on 3 squares by 4 squares times 7 inches, and then I had a bit of leftover space that wasnt covered. It had not occured to me to check the size of the square before I got to that point. It seems my printer shrank them just about 1/8th inch, so there was about an inch along the short side and about an inch and a litte more along the long side. No problem for my needs, as I am not using the squares for anything other than lining up the walls and props, but I will remember to print out a measured page to test before printing a whole job in the future so I dont end up wasting an ink cartridge or refill. I have an Epson and assumed the printing instructions would naturally include mine. Just like anything else, measure twice, cut once.

You might want to check your Acrobat settings as this could be your culprit, not your printer. I noticed the hard way that Acrobat defaults to Shrink to Page. I thought this meant that if the page easily fit within the printable area of my printer and paper that it didn't shrink the page. I was wrong, very wrong. Acrobat defaults to shrinking the page by at least 6% when Shrink to Page is set. Unfortunatley I had printed half of my project with Shrink to Page on and half with it off while building a large set for my son. I couldn't figure out why some of my tiles weren't meshing well with the others. I noticed the problem when I went to re-print the "faulty" tiles

Always check your settings before printing.
