I don't know if anyone else does this, but I found myself in a wierd position today, unable to get my fingers into a tight spot while the glue was setting. My wife said "wait a minute" and came back with a pair of needle-nosed pliers. Saved my life and sanity!
I use them all the time now! You can get into some very difficult corners with them and exert tremendous pressure without damaging the paper.
I won't be without them now.

I have needle-nosed tweezers, hemostats, and some clothespins. I've also just wrapped a sheet of paper around the working project and taped it tight like a giant adjustable clamp.

I've had my two year old hold parts together that were too tight for my stubby fingers to manage. (he's got itsy bitsy fingers!)

Plus he likes helping... and if he LIKES it soon I'll be able to get him to make ALL my models for me. MWAHHAHHAHAHA!
