So, the second floor of the manor is now edged and based, and I've been doing little touches like the railings and such. I was showing my wife the terrace, and she looked at it and said, "Wood? Shouldn't it be stone? Who makes a terrace from wood?"

Well, me, I guess. But then, what I know about houses is pretty darn minimal. So I put it to all of you - a stone or wood terrace?

(For informative purposes, the terrace is 15' x 45', and adjacent and accessed from the master suite.)

I just haven't put anything beneath it yet. There will likely be some kind of columns or stonework or something. Balcony, terrace, deck ... whatever.


So far, the stones have it. I created a stone balcony railing that (so far) looks pretty good. The proof will be in the pudding...
