I have purchased a few sets recently and now I finally have time to build them. But, I was first going to get some glue pens and a knife and I realize I can't find the UHU 99589 (or 99570) glue pens locally. I have seen them on a site called but I am not sure how legit they are. Has anyone ordered from them or do they have some place they can recommend?

Second, what type of hobby knife? In the beginner's guide it looks like a utility knife, not the hobby knife (X-Acto) that I am used to. Anyone recommend a good knife or will any utility knife from home depot do?

I think I have everything else but plan to get a better ruler as mentioned in the ruler sticky. I'll have to check the office stores for that this week as I forgot to when I looked for the glue...

Their site certificate (the little lock on check out) looks to be up-to-date and legit; you should be fine ordering from them.

I've been using a standard Utility knife that I picked up from Home Depot with no problems. The nice thing about that knife is that you can cut foamcore board, tile, Cardstock, Wallpaper, whatever. All you need to do is just replace the blade whenever it gets dull. (It takes a while to dull a knife with Cardstock, but it goes much quicker with foamcore or tile.)

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I did go ahead and order 12 of the glue pens. I'll let people know how it goes. I figure it would be cheaper in the long run to buy 12 now and hopefully I'll stick with building terrain, even if it doesn't all get used.

I am planning a layout similar to what Andorax is describing in his thread . Also have plans to build a STAR or SHIELD labs for a SuperSystem scenario. Shadowcore might do well for that...once I save up some more for it.

I definitely need a ruler with no slip grip. The one I have has cork on it and a test run last night went kinda screwy with the paper moving as I cut it. Too bad they do not make Alumicutters out of steel. I may try one, anyway.
