Some have reported that the old standard UHU Office Pen No.99589 is in short or rare supply out there these days. I myself have had problems finding it locally (although it is still available online).

To my delight however I took a chance on UHU's latest "Twist & Glue" product and it's PERFECT for this craft! This wonderglue seems to be readily available too! From my experience with the glue it seems to be the same "no-warp" formula as the Office Pen version but it has the added benefit of 3 application shapes to make your life easier. Not only that but each bottle contains a fair amount of glue so you won't be running out as frequently as with the pens.

I have been using this glue for a while now and I have to caution that it is in fact a VERY warpy glue if used in large amounts. Great for props though and none of that annoying seperation that occurs with the UHU pens if the humidity changes drastically...

I've had a bottle for a while now also. Because the pen version was getting hard to find in the local supply stores. I do think as Matt seems too, that there is more water in this glue. So keep that in mind.

Something I've recently been using is the Elmer's Glue Pen (it looks like an orang'ish gel) and it is really low water content. This is a different formula than their clear glue pens. It has very little warp like the UHU Glue pen and is in easy reach of most consumers. Plus it has the duel tipped applicator. One side is small for tiny bits and the other is wide for large coverage.

I built the First Light Bridge last night using great gobs of glue liberally smeared. (I'm an engineer dammit, not an artist!)

I found significantly less warpage than when I built the cargo bay using Mono-Aqua, using my SOGGOG technique (Smear On Great Gobs Of Glue).

I did notice more issues with 'lifting'. The paper wouldn't always stay together. I had no such issues when using Mono.

I'm using 110lb card stock, and since we're having a cold spell here, my furnace is on and my house is excessively dry.

Now that I think about it...

Although the amount of glue is probably the biggest issue, and the second biggest would be clumsy fingers. Relative humidity would affect warpage. And another issue would include the chemical makeup of the papers in question.

Denny, have you talked to a knowledgeable Printer regarding the properties of paper? You might be surprised at what you learn. (I used to develop Thermal Photochromic Inks for security applications.) You may yet have World Works branded paper to distribute...

I am using UHU since more than 30 years now and have to admit it is my favorite too. If you apply it carefully warping is no issue really.

Twist and Glue was created in the 80ties and is called "Flinke Flasche" (Quick Bottle) here and yes, it is a German product

To avoid warping I have a tip:
Warping is mostly becoming an issue if you apply the glue one-sided. If you apply it equally on both sides the expansion of the paper is equal everywhere and warping is reduced. This technique also improves the long term stability of the model.

Of course the layer of glue should be thinner than what the spreader provides, so first thing I do when opening a bottle is getting rid of this ... the probate measure is actually to take a finger (or a scrap piece of cardboard) and spread the glue ...
Also the thin long nozzle of the bottle is really handy to apply glue in recessed areas. Or you can use the nozzle sideways to spread the glue if the surface is not too broad ...
