What I find really frustrating about lining the buildings with foamcore is trying to make 90 degree cuts. I've tried several different tools for this but they have all been junk.

Do you get good 90* cuts? Or just cover the edges so the defects don't show?

I was doing something similar with a western town set that I bought and joining the foamcore in that way makes for strong, sturdy joints!

No, that is how I did it. The reason the edge is messed up is because the side piece, that the notch covers, had a very poor cut. So instead of a nice flat edge the side piece had an angled section

Wraeththu's method is the one I use as well. When I originally started, that was what I was doing, then I got away from it and built w/o foamcore. One natural disaster (A wife with an armload of HeroClix cases = smashed buildings) and Wraeththu's blog catapulted me back.

When I saw Wraeththu's buildings, of course, I just HAD to start doing windows and doors too... While my results aren't as seamless as hers (I wish I could get those perfect 90 degree cuts!!!), I am more than happy with the results.
