Printer: Epson Stylus R220

Paper: GP 110lb Card Stock from Wal-Mart

Settings: Set quality to 'text & images' because anything higher will just soak the paper way too much. Be sure to specify paper type of 'heavy cover stock' or something like that. Set paper size to Letter (or whatever size you are using).

Pros: Excellent quality even with quality setting on 'text & images'. Colors look great; not too light, not too dark, and vivid. I've used hundreds of printers over the years; one of the best ones I've ever used. Ink usage is fair; not as bad as most but not the most conservative either... I'd say almost 500 prints out of a tank with Yellow and Black being used faster. It uses 6 ink tanks; Cyan, Light Cyan, Magenta, Light Magenta, Yellow, and Black.

Cons: Won't load card stock automatically; must feed it in one at a time. From the top loader if you put in like 10 sheets it sucks in 2 and jams. Ink is fairly expensive. It's not my printer and my in-laws insist on using genuine Epson ink because all of the documentation says it will break & void your warranty if you don't.

Note: The photo quality prints are mind blowing. I couldn't tell one bit of difference between a professional print and what their printer does. Now you have to use the expensive paper and it uses a lot more ink but wow... just wow... truly amazing.

Printer: Samsung CLP-610ND

Paper: Mostly Hammermill 110# I think, but some GP #110

Settings: Used to Set it to Cardstock, but found it really makes no difference

Pros: The cartridges last forever. Nine months so far and only half way down on yellow, and a quarter down on the other three. Like the color. Like the fact the prints are fearless, if they get a bit of moisture on them, they won't run. This thing has never given me one problem in three years.

Cons: Cartridges cost $60 to $80, each. Have seen a few pages flake at creases. Takes almost a minute to warm up to print the first page. The printer is large, takes up a lot of space. Thing cost almost $400 when color lasers first came out. Way more than the two Cannons we had prior, which I loved, but not this much.
