I'm printing out a 24" x 27" map that's made up of WWG textures, and want to print it out as a single sheet and mount it on something.
Many details and decisions have gotten me down to the following choice: special warp-resistant foamcore, or 1.8 mm chipboard, and I'll be gluing 3D elements to the board. My thinking is that 1.8 mm chipboard couldn't possibly be rigid enough to not flop around during transfer from the shelf to the table, so I think I pretty much have to go with the foamcore. Am I right? Does anyone have any experience with 1.8 mm chipboard of anything like that size?

I created an over-sized Masterboard of the sea tiles from The Maiden of the High Seas using a 48" x 36 inch foamcore display board. It has held its shape in storage (vertical, behind the couch) very well for almost 3 years now. The center section (sans 'wings') is 36 x 24.
I'm not seeing any problem with possible warping of regular foamcore of that thickness (unless you have a high humidity environment), and it should be rigid enough for a build of your envisioned 24 x 27 inch.
My 2 cents from experience... [Send pics of your project when completed. ]
