Ive been thinking about purchasing the Maiden for a friend who wants to use it in his next campaign (a swashbucking priate campaign believe it or not ).

I was wondering about the transparencies involved - can i get some tips (where to buy, how to print on, etc) or is all this information contained in the Maiden PDF?

You can buy printable transparencies but they're very pricey. As an alternative you might want to consider printing off the transparency sheet onto normal paper then going to the local print shop and have them colour photocopy it onto a transparency for you. Given the cost of ink, transparencies and the possibility you might mess up and waste one, I think it's probably a more cost effective solution.

As good as transparencies look, I just can't bring myself to invest in them. After all, one of the main benefits of cardstock terrain over resin or other longer lasting materials is that it's fairly cheap to replace when something inevitably happens. I don't know the costs, but I have a feeling that adding transparencies would increase the cost too much, for me at least.

If you do decide to go through with it, be sure to share photos as I'm sure whatever you build will look incredible.

That suggestion, BTW, applies to more than just transparencies. I suspect a whole bunch of us do that for a lot of things, especially props and transparencies (I know I do).

For example, I really like Matt's couch, and wanted a few for my spaceship. Rather than print extra fridges, stoves, AC units, etc (not that I might not use them, but I don't want them right now), I just created a page with couches.

I know that Photoshop 7 and Adobe Image Ready 7 both load PDFs with no problems. The system used in selecting a page in a PDF file is surprisingly efficient, (there is a small window that opens, showing you preview images of the pages you are scanning through before selecting which one you want to open. No need to remember the page number you're looking for).

As far as cutting and pasting, someone else is probably more qualified to give you an answer. Most of the things I know in Photochop came from my own explorations, (in the class I took, I was showing the teacher how to do things she didn't even know about). So my way would probably be overly complicated or less-efficient than what the more-experienced posters could share. One of the great things about PS, though, is that there are often multiple ways to do something, where each has their own situation-specific advantages and drawbacks.
