Ultimately I want to put together the Maiden of the Sea for a 50 Fathoms game I'm running, but I'm guessing its not really a "beginner" level model. What would a good starting kit to cut my teeth on. My group plays about anything, so finding use for terrain is never an issue. I was thinking of maybe Urban Mayhem?

Hmmm, for ease of building the two sets in the classics combo (Castle Works Classic and Dungeon Works) are pretty good.

Interior Works is also fairly easy. Most of Skull Cove is pretty simple as well, and will compliment The Maiden quite well. (The exception, for me at the least, are the boats. I am going to have to try out the super glue trick...)

But yes, the Maiden likely has more Fiddly Bits than any two other sets put together.

A note on Urban Mayhem: You'll want to start with Streets of Mayhem, but you'll find a ton of use from Mayhem Armoury.

Hilltop Encounter and Sacrificial Portal are both good beginning points too.
