Hello all,
I need some suggestions on what to purchase. I run a AD&D 2E game and would like to incorperate some world works products. Some of my general questions are listed below. I know I want to be able to make a town/city as big or small as I need and dungeon models.

1. Does the CWU contain the buildings to make a town, including the interior props?

2. Besided Chunky Dungeon, what other products do I need to buy to meet my requirements stated above?

I also need it to be very modular so I can store the pieces when not in use and be able to quickly reassemble them when needed. I have a 4 year old who would love to play with them.

Welcome aboard. As to your questions:

1) Castleworks Ultimate will make a great castle, and has both some interiors and exteriors. It will also blend nicely into a town by providing outer walls/defenses, the occasional wizard's tower, and some buildings, but it is not well suited to being an entire town all by itself. Your best bet (at least until the Himmelveil sets start coming out) will be to also pick up VillageWorks (for the exteriors) and/or the InteriorWorks package (for the interiors). Villageworks has a lot of town-like buildings that can go together in a variety of ways, while InteriorWorks has all of the indoors "bits" you need to make the insides of the buildings look the way you want them.

2) First, I have to ask you a question. Chunky Dungeons is 1.5" scale. VillageWorks is on a 1" scale (though for the buildings that doesn't matter, as they're all exterior anyways). InteriorWorks supports both scales, as does CastleWorks Ultimate.

Which scale are you planning on using? D&D 3+ is firmly wedded to the 1" scale, though if you're running 2E that's hardly a pre-requisite.

For dungeons in 1.5" scale, Chunky is likely your best bet. If, however, you are running a 1" scale, or are unconcerned about scale, I'd be inclined to suggest you go with DungeonWorks Gothic instead, possably coupled with the aforementioned InteriorWorks.

As budget allows, I would also suggest picking up the old DungeonWorks Classic (there's still some pieces in it of use) and, as your need heads in that direction, CaveWorks.

As I build VW items I usually give him something small. Like a shipping crate or a small stone hut. He likes it so it's cool with me.
