The Canon's are a cardstock user's dream. The only thing you might want to think about and find out is about the cartiages - are they chipped? Can you go the third party route?

i have been using Canons for the past five years - mainly one for four of them. I have done the third party refills on both with out a hitch. The only reason I have changed is my older one has got a slight block on the black head and I'm too slack to clear it - plus the new printer MP780 printing head is unbelieveable.

Yes my S800 is opertational but like I said its my own lazyness that has put it on the wayside. Also note that this is the first real blockage I have had with it. Thats after +1000's of sheets have gone through it (I print off pdf books too).

I have a Pixma MP500, no problems printing on cardstock.

It does have a problem with thinner than normal paper with lots of ink in humid weather. (The stuff crinkles and jams during Duplex printing.) It has done so twice out of more than 300 pages printed. (Both when printing the Gear section of the Spycraft 2.0 PDF - it was raining.) Thicker paper has no problems with this.
