I would avoid attic and garage storage. If you store the bins in the attic then chances are that the bins themselves will warp due to the Texas heat and will allow humidity into the box warping the cardstock,

..at least that is always my concern. I keep all my stuff in boxes in my workroom/office. I just think that temperature/humidity control is done more easily in the room.

Your Mileage May Vary of course.

I found recently that humidity and temperature are the two things you've really got to be careful with. I had all my Mayhem buildings in a large file-box, and found that they'd come apart and the glue had gone damp (after being there for 5-6 months. Given that other buildings in a different room were intact, I can only surmise this was due to low temperature and high humidity in the room.

I also thin the type of glue is an issue.... I can't say I've had that much luck with the office pens

To help with humitity save the silica packets you find in packages. WHen I packed to move out of my old house and packed up all of my games and builds I placed two or three in every box (got them from my granddad who sells fireworks). So far they seem to work just find but I also have all the boxes in my house. I also usually keep all the ones that I find in anything that I buy for just this reason (the wife and I eat a lot of beef jerky so we get plenty).
I belive that three per box should be enough for long term storage it will take some time longer to know for certain (have only been in this house for just shy of two months now). But I also live in Louisiana dealing with high humitity and heat both so what I need may be more than what some other members would require.

I use Container Store Underbed Boxes to store terrain in. They stack very, very nicely. I have them stacked about 8 high currently in my craft room, and I've had them stacked as much as 12 high without problem. Each holds quite a bit of terrain - my large monastery build takes up two bins, for example.

For larger terrain, like Mayhem buildings, the CWC Manor, and tall Mars Station canyons, I use the Jumbo Boxes. They're the same width/length as the Underbed Boxes, just twice as tall - so they also stack nicely. In a pinch, you can even store a Maiden in one of the Jumbo boxes (I did for moving).

All in all, I have around 15 of the Underbeds, and 5 of the Jumbos - and I haven't built anything for awhile.
