It's a good idea. My painting isn't at a level where I want to show it off really, but I always put some WWG terrain for my minis to stand on when I do actually take photos. It's not really a display stand, but it is a scene setup specifically to take the photos.

One of the Void/Urban War guys painted up as a Top Dog for my juve gang.


Bunch of werewolves... I think these were from Old Glory... West Wind range.


Another gang member used as a Top Dog from one of my demo gangs.


I wanted to do something a little different with this lady... and have her fit in to the Big Meg. The one on the left is mine (obviously) and is Very different in color choices from the original.

Anyway, this is just a few as an example that I do use WWG terrain whenever I take pics of my minis. I hope that helps a little...

Yeah, something I've reently been thinking about. I usually use Hirst bricks for dioramas and figure displays (since I cast a LOT up before and still have loads left to use).

Like Arabin, I have used WWG stuff as backdrop for my most recent photos though, and look very cool. Wouldn't be too hard to use as proper figure displays.

I've used WWG for backdrops, but I was hoping that someone actualy made a display stand where they put their mini's after playing with them. I've used Hirst Arts and normal railroad techniques to make display stands, but I'm turning almost totally into a cardstock using gamer for wargames and roleplaying (easier to deal with and if you drop it, crush it, have a kid get mad and throw it, it is easy to replace) so I was thinking of making one out of WWG sets. I had wanted to use a hole drill bit to drill into the foam after I put the WWG tile down, but it just ripped the paper to shreds . I want to be able to sink the baes into the set so it looks more natural.

I see what you mean, and it would be cool to sink the minis into the foamcore to blend in... but I don't have room to display them permanently.

I like your robots though... is that a GOMC1 robot gang? The guy at the front looks like a dwarf with armor, but the others look like cool robots or steampunk golems.

Well after all that monkiness I'll try to reconduct the post... I don't use to picture my paints (they are not good enought for that) but once after seen a discusion here about the matter tried to use a bit of WW tile as a "base" for a miniature that has an awfull bit of base and don't wanted to paint...the result wasn't quite good as expected because the dificult of put in place...but take a look and judge by yourself (not the quality of the painting/picture) - I belive than in more "squared" bases that could work quite well...
