OK, so it's time for me to get serious about my 4'x4' Rezolution table. I am going to build it onto two sheets of MDF using Mayhem tiles. The first step after layout of course is to grid the board with Magic Marker, so if anything doesn't match up quite right there will be nice black under the gap, matching the black edges of the tiles themselves. I thought this was a neat trick and thought you folks might like to see it in progress:



I will post more pictures of this as I build more of it.

the beginning looks good

I was too lazy to do that and glued the roads down to the cardboard which covered all the "non-Building" squares, ie roads, parking lots bridges...

I'm planning something similar for use at conventions. What you'll want to do is make a raised rail built around the outside of the boards to keep the tiles in place once you lay them down.
I didn't think of the black marker stripes so I'll be stealing that.
