I've been working on a dockside tavern, and have been staring at all those little chairs and stools, trying to find an easier approach.

Then it hit me.

When you cut out a block of chairs or stools, don't cut the lines between them all the way through. Leave about 1/4" of card connected between each one.

Score the whole lot as one piece - already time saved.

Now glue them together, again as one piece. It's a bit fiddley, and takes some care to pull off cleanly, but it's a LOT faster than doing them one at a time.

Finally, carefully cut the last bit of card out, separating the chairs or stools.


It should work just fine with Castles & Keeps chairs as well. Not everything can use this technique, but I've found that for those rows upon rows of chairs and stools, it's a quick, easy shortcut.

Huh. I'll assume the chairs are in a line, like they are in the Maiden since I don't own the interior works stuff.
I've always done them that way (well sort of), didn't even occur to me to cut and glue each individually, it just seemed like the natural and efficient way to do it. At least for the Maiden chairs, you can cut, score and glue the lot together and end up with a long 'pew' ( hmmm... kitbash idea!!) . Then you just slice each chair off one at a time and edge. Presto! Eight chairs in like five minutes with no fiddling around.
