My printer is looking like it's on its last... cartridges? Axles? Little rubber feet? It didn't make it through my latest move very well and even after getting new cartridges there's odd color bleed and it's been getting worse.

I'm thinking it might be time for a new printer, and I have what might seem like an odd priority: I want it to not curl the cardstock I'm printing on. I know this isn't a big deal to most of you but I'm never fully satisfied with my attempts to straighten my cardstock once it curled.

The best way I've found to prevent curling is to get a printer that has a way to directly feed the paper through the printer without having to bend it.
A 45 deg turn seems ok, but anything more then that and I've had trouble.

For inkjets normally I've found that this means some sort of paper tray in the back that holds the paper mostly upright and feeds directly under the print head. My last two cannon printers have had this and I find it works really well for keeping card stock flat.

My Epson WP-4020 feeds cardstock from the top and out the front without curling it at all.

My previous printer, an HP 942c (which printed fine and square its whole life - I only got rid if it because I couldn't get ink cartridges for it anymore) wrapped the card around 180 degrees and imparted a slight bow in the sheets.

I don't have an issue with curling on my Epson Artisan 835. I have only ever noticed an issue on laser printers at work using cardstock.

I've got a canon IP4600, had it for a few years so it may now be out of date.
It prints without curling. As Scrubkai said, it has an upright paper holder at the back, paper is held at approx 80 degrees to the horizontal.

Works with WWG pdf's beautifully.
Separate ink tanks
Prints directly onto printable CD's DVD's (CD disk carrier included)

I have been using 'compatible' ink cartridges in it for the last few years with no detrimental effects.
A set of 5 tanks cost £14 (Yellow, Blue, Magenta, black-small and black-large).

Highly recommended.

I have a Brother Laser HL-3040 cn It does curl the pages on printout but leaving them under the telephone directory over night takes the curl out.

Part of my curling problem also stems from living in a 80-99% humidity area.
