The first time I used World Works scenery was when I helped a friend make some preassembled rooms for an upcoming game. Rather than mounting the entire dungeon to a single piece of foamcore we cut pieces to match the rooms and corridors we created, with the result that we could rearrange them for different maps. (We recreated several from Bard's Production's Common Grounds supplements as well.) We also employed straight bobby pins rather than paperclips to hold the sections together, the darker color fading in fairly well with the dungeon walls. Removing them also seemed easier than the paperclips.

The initial map was designed with Dungeoncarfter, a free mapping program. In so doing we found that Dungeoncrafter ( www.dungeoncrafter.com ) and World Works function quite well together. If I ever have the time and energy I may create some custom tiles for Dungeoncrafter to represent some of the World Works terrain that isn't already represented in one fashion or another.

For Cave Works I am considering cutting the caves out of blue insulation foam and using Caveworks as a liner for the resulting labyrinth, giving it a more subterranean appearance. (This is intended for a convention in March, and will be given away as a prize rather than having to lug it home and store it.) Hopefully this will result in a very sturdy multilevel structure.The sewer sections of Gothic Realms would also work quite well with this approach.

And another idea for attaching the walls to foam core board - print to sheets of crack 'n' peel, then stick them directly to the foam core. This would also work for the masterboard sections.

Hey, when you're done with the Caveworks & insulation foam project, PLEASE post pictures - it sounds like an awesome idea (the biggest mental hurdle with 3D caves is that they don't tend to look, well, rugged enough). Although of course CaW has the best stab at it I've seen so far :}
