Who's using the cardstock for the walls? I'm afraid with my sets that It'll only hold up for a game or two (especially since we tend to drink heavily on game nights).

I found this clear shelving liner at the grocery store that basically laminates everything and doesn't alter the color very much.

That way, in the event of a party foul, we're covered with just a wet paper towel.

Anyone else try anything like this before? (I'm new here.)

Never tried it on walls, but when I built two huge (40x60) masterboards for a local convention, I used that same clear laminate on them to help gamer-proof them to get them to hold up for the weekend.

They not only lasted the weekend out, they were donated to a gaming store (you know what kind of abuse they'd get there) and lasted a good long time there in good condition.

Only problem with it was that any photos taken of it had the shiny factor ramped up about 10x normal.

Luckyjoe has been sealing his with mod-podge. And doing foamcore walls. But hes working with a clip it set rather than a real structure, so he didn't need to work out a way to attach the corners.

Thanks for the linkage LD . I used Matte finish Mod-Podge decoupage sealer over cardstock mounted onto foamcore. That works pretty well to increase strength and protect from spillage. And doesn't cause a lot of glare or distortion. I don't know how it will work on just paper walls but I suspect it will cause warping. Maybe I'll try an experiment with it and post later. I've been considering using it to protect my Maiden build and I need to see if it will work before I use it on the ship.

I like the idea of using the laminate for plain paper builds (as opposed to foamcore). I'd be interested in seeing any pics of what you come up with.

I've completed a section of my bank with the laminate. I took a picture just to see what it would look like. I think the key is lighting. As long as the light on the model is consistent, I see very little glaring. The trick is giving it a little knuckle and rubbing it so that the color shows through better.
