In Swampwoods, there are a ton of circles that need a ton of edging.

When you're trying to glue an edging onto a curved surface, the proper way to clamp it is with a matching curve. Were this wood, I'd use a vacuum press and make two glue passes. Since it's paper, we use foamcore.

When you cut out the circle for the tree base, do it as carefully as you possibly can.



Then take the surrounding material and split it in two on a diagonal. A bobby pin pushed into the corner acts as a spring hinge, pulling the two pieces together.

Apply glue to the edge and put the edging on. Position in the clamp, and let it close. Pull the open diagonal together just a tiny bit, ensuring even pressure all the way around. Clamp it.
