My wife is a Container Store nut, and while I was there with her this weekend, I discovered the a great carry/storage container for models. They're supposedly for magazines, but the larger case is perfect for models - and they are on sale at the moment for a few bucks less.



I bought four, and they stack nicely. I don't have so many models built yet that this has become too expensive or unwieldy to store them (but I can imagine it getting there). I like these because it keeps them relatively sealed, and the cases are easily portable. Plus, they're clear so I can see into them and quickly find what I need.

You hit the nail on the head with storage. My office was in total chaos with bits of models here and there until I picked up some plastic drawers from here: http://www.graciousliving.com/bus-drawerstorage.html . They are relatively cheap, stackable and easy to throw into the back of a car if you're going to play a game away from home.
