Also, SiegeWorks, ExteriorWorks: Hinterlands, Skulls Cove and Atlantis could be promising. Peruse the store pages for some decent pictures of the sets.

1. Have a look at the . The ground tiles from here are great for ancient battle grounds, and teh ruined walls coem in very handy as well. (This is one of my most used sets and also the cheapest. Plus, the portal is spectacular and just begs to get used.)

If you're proficient with GIMP you might be able to add a few skeletons and weapons poking through the grass. If you do, please let me know - I'd love to see that.

2a. is the answer for siege towers. One of the siege tower variants has hides attached to the outside that make it look old and shabby. The wood itself is very orange and fresh looking, so you will probably want to change the color to make it look older. If the original build looks too pristine you can always hack away at it until you get the look you want (one of the beauties of PDF cardstock terrain).

2b. As for the weathered grey timber look, textures are closest to what you're after.
