It was bound to happen. I whipped up some simple rules for a "Liar's Cards" type card/die game, but I didn't want to use the cards that came with the Roll Arena. So, I spent the evening fiddling with the cards until I came up with this: The backs of the cards have the wooden/leathery texture of the Roll Arena, with the center from one of the wheels on it. On the front, I stretched the scroll across the whole face of the card, and in the center I put the card value image. I think I spent the most time learning keyboard shortcuts in GIMP... I'm getting much better! It was fun trying to tile the little starburst image around the card value images... Anyway, I'm going to try to get a "full deck" printed out - I'll stop at 5 of each card - and see if my rules hold up with my kids. If they do, I'll consider submitting these as a kitbash with the rules for the game (a variation on liar's dice). |

I played a couple times with my kids. It turns out neither of my kids can lie to save their lives - which I suppose is good news for me as their parent - but it made playing a game based on bluffing kind of a non-starter... Anyway, I wrote up the game instructions as a fun attempt to kitbash more of the Roll Arena files: Based on the current kitbash guidelines, I think I'm just supposed to sit back and wait to be told where to submit this as a kitbash! |

I really like this! I can see a whole bunch of 'bashes made as die/card games. A nice, perhaps unintended, consequence of such a versatile product. |

Really nice work on the cards. Do you think you could add a page of blank extended scrolls? I like the look of those for doing power cards for another game. |
