Ok ok. I'm not really working on this... Well, not in earnest just yet. I *do* have a shoebox already labelled at home for the parts, but I've got too many other things to do right now. It's I just that I found myself at work without my usual files to work with, so I wanted to see whether I could pull out some full-sized TLX tiles from the floor textures of the Undercrypt set. I *love* the textures of this set!



I only had to do a smidgen of cloning to fill in all the gaps. Removing those glowing runes would make a more versatile piece, so I'll probably work on that as time permits. That'll probably mean scrambling the tiles up a little bit to avoid the clear stripe down the middle.

Too bad the set only came in 1" format (though lucky for me, that's the only format I use!)...

Not to sound too much like a sales pitch, but if you don't mind a little work in GIMP, picking up the sets in The Vault or the Classics really can give you some fun!

Having this in TLX format would be great ...

... If you're thinking of going the whole hog and submitting this as yet another of your awesome WWG kitbashes, then it would pay to check with Denny that his arrangement with Paizo permits that. IIRC, this set was a joint WWG/Paizo initiative, so there may be some restrictions on what can be done with it.

Naw. I'm not planning on submitting this one. I have a heap load of loose ends on the Atlantis stuff I want to get finished. This is just gonna be a fun time filler for now.

Maybe when my plate clears I'll see what the officials say, but for now, I won't even waste their time.

... but this is way more fun than my day job! If only it paid as well!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Denny has said TCP sets were unique to TCP. That there would not be a TLX matching set. Broke my heart to hear that, but I understand.

Of course, these aren't TCP textures... These are from a Classic set. But, in general, "conversions" are frowned upon, but they're a lot of fun for personal use! I especially like doing them because at the same time, I'm learning more and more about using GIMP.

Oh please, please, please submit this as a kitbash! I love these textures so much!

Yeah - there are a lot of cool textures on the walls to work with. Some day, I'll have fun trying to tease them apart and make some TLX walls... It's a really nice set.

Tinkered a bit with one of the walls available. If you're interested in kitbashing stuff for your own purposes, this is really a fun set - *well* worth the price since you can build it as-is AND make some additional cool pieces for yourself.



The walls are standard TLX 2" height so they translate fairly easily. At least, some of them do. I'm liking the exterior stone wall texture there too. I might cobble together some method for making arbitrarily long wall segments out of that texture so I can have some cave tunnels...



I'm guessing that, with some rocks added onto it, that'll make an OK cavern wall or tunnel. Maybe add some stalagmites and what nots.

hmm...map that "outer" texture onto the Hinterlands Cliffs walls?

I was thinking more organic than the cliff walls. Or, rather, maybe both. The cliff wall geometry is great because you can stack a cliff-top tile on it. Maybe that'd be cool to do with a cave too, so it's an interesting option.

What I was thinking of was really for tunnels and cavern rooms. Basically make a way to have longer-than-6-inch walls and longer-than-3-inch-but-shorter-than-6-inch walls that you can [reverse] score to your heart's delight and then slot into the 6" tiles. Kinda like providing angled walls that you can bend any which way to make em fit.

With that, I don't really need a 2nd floor. Couple that with some Mars Station-esque boxy builds for interior features...

heh I meant the old set but I broke it out a couple weeks ago as I know we are going to need caverns in our Pathfinder game. I would rather have them ready to go, than wait for the TLX set. I'm not even bothering to make them TLX. Much easier to make a bunch of walls that you just need to fold and set up.

I had a few minutes over lunch today, so I made a couple more of the tiles from the Undercrypt set:





There are a couple more types of tiles (one or two at least) that I want to do for the green set, though I might have more fun turning some things into 3d props. There's still a lot of good texture I haven't tapped into yet here.

Some things I will go back and clean up before I attempt to build anything:
1) The brown tiles have dark corners - the original textures had a fixed layout and made use of lighting that I don't/can't use for TLX tiles. That should be easy to remove though.
2) The greenish tiles... I think the tiles with the paths on them could do without the blueish tiles in the center. I dunno. Not sure I like it that way.

The Mrs. has me cleaning the home office up - I've really let it get to be a mess, and it's driving her crazy. I owe it to her to get that done before I print anything out.

I had printed out some kitbashes that I am just about ready to submit. I need to assemble and take promo pics and they will be ready.
