Ok I kitbashed this weekend. Here is what I came up with for diagonal walls. I lost a lot of the texture because I had to convert it so many times. I miscalculated the wall lengths. Now I have the correct lengths I can go back to the original and make one that the textures look much better.

Looking good! The 1x1 version is probably the best choice when it comes to flexibility. For longer walls, you may want to make a 2x1 version as well, or the 2x2 version I suggested in the other thread (come to think of it, 2x1 would probably be much easier to work with).

The 2x2 version requires more in the way of photoshopping, since I have to move the top from one side to the other. I am not sure how good that would look.

Yes. There were a number of changes needed to the standard 1.5"x1.5" walls. To do the angle the wall had to be slightly longer, so I had to stretch the back wall a bit. Other than that everything else could be done by cutting off the extra pieces.

Maybe you should also send a blank version, you know, just the lines into which the texture could be poured. Gives Denny some options.

Yeah, I was thinking about creating some geometries for him to look at... I'd hate to try and squeeze his gorgeous textures all out of proportion....

I did not remove the texture to make the piece, here is what happened.

It comes down to I can not divide .75 by 2. (Short Answer)

(Long Answer, including boring mathmatics)
When I was calculating the new dimensions, using the good old pythagorean theorem I needed to calculate the hypotenuse of 2 triangles. The first being the long edge in the back, the second being the short end in the front. Measuring the width of the walls I discovered that it was .75" wide. Therefore, The remaining arera on the square tile is .75". Assuming Denny placed the walls in the middle of the tiles there is .75"/2 space on each side of the wall. So the short side has to go from .375" in on one end to .375" in on the next corner and the long wall has to go from 1.125" to 1.125". The length can be easily figured by the pythagorean theorem. The problem with my original file was that I used .325" instead of .375". Since I did not have my original psd file available at home. I just hand streched the wall converting it back from a pdf again and in this process I lost a lot of the clarity.

Now I have learned a little more about how photoshop works I discovered how to create pdfs directly from photoshop not using acrobat (which I did before). I am now able to minimize the loss created in the process. So the file I sent Denny today should have minimal texture loss due to conversions.

I wish it were so cool. Actually it comes from a 8 character standard to determine a username from a persons name in unix. It involves the first 6 letters of my last name and the 1st and last letter of my first name, but since unix only wanted to store 8 characters the last character became p instead of r. So my unix username came from Christopher Johnson -> johnsocp. I use it because being a sysadmin I have so many users and passwords that I need some system of standardization. I'd hate to look at the logs of this system to find out how many times I failed to login with the wrong password (again I have a system).

Edit I use it instead of my nickname Crash, since almost every system has exactly 10,000,000 crash variations on it. Ask me again someday and I'll tell you how I became crash.

A note to those using it.

1. I left the wall bottom tabs as they were. You will have to cut them to fit it on to the base.
2. I recommend scoring the wall tabs not reversed like the symbols show but on the colored side and folding them under the wall. You will still have to cut the wall tabs, but it will match up to the base better. (This is a slightly harder option to build)

May I make one small suggestion? It would be great to have a small attribution of who created the mod - either by real name, or by WWG username. Plus some reference to the set the mod came from - either just the name, or a direct link. How about something like this:

Denny, once again, it seems as though many good things are just around the corner. Can't wait! (I'll have to, of course, but that doesn't mean I won't be *twitch*ing! )

I think this is a great idea, Conaill! I would say that whoever submits it should have the option of using whichever name they choose, but maybe default to forum name?
