This may be one of the easiest kitbashes ever, and has probably been done before, but I couldn't find anything on it, and I thought it added a nice touch. After printing a set of the Stage Curtains for Pubs & Inns, I realized there was no way for the show to end (or begin) dramatically! Curtains are nice for dress, but I wanted them to be able to close and open. Here's the normal curtains. I printed another set of curtains, and did the same cut you find on all the doors and windows in P&I. The problem with this is that you see too much white from the back of each of the flaps. This isn't an issue with the doors, because they're never hanging out in free space, with the edges easily visible. Here's what it look like straight on, though. Not bad! If you're looking for the easy version, stop here! It's functional, and looks just fine. But, I'm not okay with just fine! (my wife even suggested I do this next step before I told her I was going to. Great minds think alike!) I took one side of the curtain, cut it off, and glued it to the backside of the other. I left the flap (with the graphic of the support beam) intact, so I could "hang" the curtain from the normal beam with it looking correct. Here's a pic of the kitbashed curtains, side on. Much better! Here's the curtains with the two "Sliders" open. And after the show, the curtains close! |

After quite a long time, I've decided to shorten the stage, so it'll fit behind the curtains. It's now available as a kitbash, too! |
