I was looking at the kitbashes and thinking about the recent confusion over communicating that the appropriate sets are needed before you can make the kitbashes... and a simple idea popped in my head.

Instead of the "Recommended" boxes on the side, could they be altered to say "Required"? It's a simple fix, but one that might help. I've seen "Strongly Recommended" before, but for a kitbash it's really not optional.

I have to admit--as a newbie to kitbashing, I've looked at some of the builds and thought to myself that I would really love to try my hand at them.

However, I was unclear on the concept as to whether I actually needed the set itself? or whether the pages/info contained in the kitbash downloads would suffice. For example, the Dice Cliff would be terrific for me--but are all the pieces contained in the set? or do I HAVE to have the actual set to get the pieces (or a majority of the pieces) with which to build the Dice cliff.

This may seem like a silly question, but if I have these questions after a year+ of the hobby, if someone new approaches our hobby, how will they know?

Maybe a FAQ or a page of background is needed at least on the kitbashing site?

I think - and this is just me talking unofficially - that some kind of kitbash reorganization is in the works. There are so many kitbashes now that it makes a lot of sense. And what Arabin says makes sense. I think we discussed something alongs those lines during the site reskin, but we discussed a lot of things then, so I'm not sure. A specific kitbash FAQ/info page is also a good idea, although there is a Guidelines link on the main kitbash page that links to a post by Denny that is fairly comprehensive (but a "what is kitbashing" as a store page might be quite useful).
