This isn't really much of a kitbash. I just edited out part of the walls and splattered some ash and dirt around. Voila ... ruined apartment. |

Neato! What game do you plan on using it in? |

Nah, it is already in the trash. Conaill was right, the broken down walls should follow the lines of the bricks. That and I should add some random bricks to the floor inside. Maybe a part of the trapdoor peeking out from under the singed edges of a rug. I will use it for 40K and some Chain Reaction. I like urban fights and the new and improved streets of Mayhem will be perfect. I should have pictures of the whole spread by the weekend or so. |

Ah man. Don't trash it. That was a GREAT start. You could have cut the brick shapes into it. Hmm...40k. I'd definately subdue/mute the colors and add alot more destruction... Good work. Looking forward to version 2 man. -Floyd |

"Throw something away" ?!?! Is that possible? Can it even be done by the merely mortal modeler? |

Don't hate me, but I liked the first one better. The ruined walls in this version look too uniform. Hack it up a little, and it will look more natural (IMHO). |

The soot level is definitely much better. If you're really going for "burned-out building", you coud add even more of course. If the walls feel too angular now, I would recommend doing all the cuts free-hand and aim for a more organic look. But by all means, don't throw this one away, will ya! ![]() |

Version 2.5 (I clipped some corners with scissors and re-edged) |

Nice! Now 2.5 has my vote for favorite. |

Looking good - stop it already! ![]() How easy was it to cut the sandwich folds using scissors? I was wondering about printing this one on regular paper instead of cardstok: you don't really need the extra strength anyway, and it would be much easier to do the cuts free-hand. Dunno about warping though - a little warping could actually add to the effect, but excessive warping would ruin it... |

All I cut with the scissors were some of the square edges on v2. When I made the walls, I imported the files into PS and then drew a path (so I could go back and change it if I wanted) on the brick side. I filled and edged the path and then duplicated and flipped (horizontally) to cover the inside wall edge. I used another layer on top of those to create the soot. I printed all the walls and put them together like normal. I let all 4 connected pieces dry completey and then cut out the whited out section with an xacto. I am happy to make a pdf of the files if the "powers that be" want to include it as a kitbash. ![]() Note: I went back and re-edited the bashed files so that they are v 2.5 "rounded brick" style. Edit: I would stick with normal card stock for strength. |

I think it's worth making this available as a kitbash, sure. As soon as Denny gets the kitbash section up and running, I've got a few to send in as well... If you ever get around to doing a 2.6 version, you could try aiming for more convex than concave 90 degree corners - I think that may look mor realistic. Unfortunately, by cutting off corners you got the opposite effect. (Minor detail though, and I'd have to play around with it a bit first to see what actually looks best in practice.) |
