There was an article in a model railroad magazine about 14 years ago or so - might see if you can find details online for it. The layout in the article looked great, but I threw out a 4-foot tall stack of the magazines just as I retired from the Army 10 years ago - couldnt see paying for shipping them and I was over my weight allowance as it was. Most of my magazines went to the dumpster that dread day. At least the article showed some of the wiring things and showed a pull-out tray with the switches and controlls. Certainly keeps the dust off the layout, and you will probably find yourself putting a little less junk on the coffee table. |

For those of you that want to try the smaller buildings I reduced the original by 33.4% and that should give you 1" per story. Now with the BOM buildings your going to have to put one of the concrete ground tiles underneath it as it is a bit smaller (same height mind you) around then the SOM stuff. I got a bunch printed up. Just need to get more foam board as I am out. |

Very good looking there Mr. Piper Sir. I will have to see about doing the same thing. I like mech stuff, but thought I'd try using my normal Mayhem sized stuff, but you have definately shown it can be done smaller. Thanks. CCotD' (Cerebral Cortex of the Damned) |

Here is my first out of several MechWarrior boards. The three story buildings work great for cover on the larger mechs! The street size just allows the largest base to squeeze through, so you have to be carefull before sticking your mechs down a tunnel of buildings.. The buildings are removable and underneath is normally the damaged terrain section incase you destroy buildings. Ive got fences, 4 lane roads also in the works. A Mechwarrior size Mars Station is also underway. On the other side of the board in the pictures is the Mars board. So you just need to flip the board over for different terrain. |

Excellent Work Mr. Piper. I really like that and am amazed at the ability to shrink down the builds. Guess I'll have to try that with the UCW for my BOTFA set. Thanks for the inspiration. CCotD' |

Post subject: | Update on MechWarrior Mayhem |
The board was made in Photoshop at 20"x30" (the size of the foam board) and then cut into 3x3 sections, printed, cut and pasted onto the foam board. Mechwarrior Mayhem is "N" scale, or 33.4% the normal size The board is slightly warped but it will go flat once I add the Mars tiles to the opposite side. I normally have Urban on one side and Mars on the other so that way I can just flip the foam board over and 'presto' new terrain. I will be making several of these. Although not as modular, this still works well. Notice Andorax kit bash buildings. |

Love the pics. That scale is just so much more manageable. I must dig out my 1/300th armies. The girls look like they're having fun. Personally I've always found that girly noises, especially delivered as a group, are a very effective stun weapon.... [edit]Oh my; an avatar change! |
