I'm trying to do better about letting you guys know ahead of time about my bashes instead of just releasing completed bits. Yeah...I know...I've got a long ways to go on that. But if you'd have been at the last radio show, you'd have heard about my current "big" kitbash project, which hopefully will be ready soon. Anyways, I had a bit of inspiration the other day about the various shapes and forms that WorldWorks Dirt takes. VillageWorks has Dirt, ArenaWorks has a sandy floor, as does Skull Cove. I even did a kitbash a while back taking the OLD CastleWorks Classic dirt, brushing off that hex grid, and replacing it with the standard 7" gridless and 1" grid, and 7.5" 1.5" grid designs. (Dirt kitbash: http://worldworksgames.com/store/index. ... cts_id=119 ) So they're all great to use...on their own...but it's hard to put one next to the other without tripping over the obvious "transition line". Well...what would happen if I put together a simple 2" wide strip that could be used to transition from one tile to another. A full tile to transition it isn't really needed here, and with the 2" strip, it could be printed on regular paper, and then glued down wholesale on one or the other tile for transition, or split down the middle and glued 1" wide on each...or whatever best works for you guys. Anyways, here's what some of them look like. I have full transitions for village to arena to skull cove sand (both light and dark) in one bash, and a transition for all of the above to the CWC dirt in a second. Thoughts? |

That is absolutely one of the most useful things I have seen. We seem to pay a great deal of attention to the three dimensional bits, but not so much to bashing basic terrain. I will definitely get a great deal of use out of these transitions. Of course this opens the door to other transitions like asphalt to dirt, or jungle to asphalt, or asphalt to water for a coastal road. ![]() Zip |
