OK, so I see the Alley tile kitbash available for sale http://worldworksgames.com/store/index. ... ucts_id=70 and I notice it has a gridded picture. Does this product include both gridded and non-gridded versions? I need non-gridded, and if that is available I will buy it tomorrow. |

Sorry, Punkrabbitt - this one's 1-inch only. Bob took some of the textures from VillageWorks, and thus only had the 1" grid to work from. Oh, and so you know for the future, I've tried on every kitbash page to make sure the "Model Scale" (next to the kitbasher's icon) says 1-inch, 1.5-inch, or gridless when appropriate. If you ever have a question, though, please ask!

I don't remember if anyone is doing this on the kitbash, but let me look at removing the grid. I'm not saying that I can do it well enough that it looks good, but I've been known to do a little modding with PS in the past, so I might be able to give back a gridless alley. I would like that, but I would also like to know how to apply a grid on a gridless texture. Sure, I could draw lines, but it would all be approximate. Is there an easy way in PhotoShop to plop a 1inch spaced grid? Arabin |

I don't know if there is a "make grid" setting, but I know a quick way to make one without it. I do it in Paint Shop Pro by putting a grid on the page (View | Grid), then making sure the Grid Measurements are 1" (200 pixels at 200 DPI), and that Snap to Grid is on. (If you were going to make a 1.5" gridded, then you'd make your grid 1.5"/300 DPI.) Then I line up the image to the grid - select the whole thing and move it until its lined up. Then its simple. Make sure your foreground color is set, then find your rectangle tool, and start drawing rectangles. I usually draw them going vertically first then horizontally, just to be efficient, but it really doesn't matter. The Snap setting will keep it exactly on the gridlines. Why the rectangle and not the line? Mostly because I'm lazy, and its a little faster, thats all. I'm sure there is a more efficient way to do it, but that has served me well enough. |

Well, I've taken the grid off of page 6 of the PDF, and as far as I can tell, it looks good, but I gotta talk with Aleph about it first gang. It was actually easier to do that I thought, but I don't want to break any company rules!

I use MS Publisher for gridding. I work in Paint (much easier cleanup, simple stuff) and/or Photoshop (blending when needed) then plunk the image into Publisher where I can (a) specify exactly how big it's supposed to be, and (b) create squares a specific size, copy them, join them all together into a grid overlay, and then place it. Like the layers in Photoshop, I can add and/or remove the grids at will. Steve |
