I think that plank size is more or less standard in the sets. You might try using a gridless floor and scaling it down with a photoshoping program. Once the planks look right new grid lines could be added. Edit: Heres a real quick go at it. the 7x7 floor is scaled down to 25% and then copied and pasted until it is 7x7 again. The planks are 20 per inch. but the planks aren't aligned at the edges were they're pasted together. http://wormholegamer.com/photos/albums/ ... planks.jpg |

Yes, in my time in England I noticed that in buildings built before about 1800, the planks were huge, some of them looked structural. Plus the scale is subjective, many things are slightly overscale, just so they show up better and have more visual impact. |

Planks in the Mediaeval period were by no means uniform, with odd exceptions. (The oddest was I believe Moscow - which burned down so regularly that they invented prefab housing in the 13th Century.  )
Often the width of a plank depended on the width of the tree - wider planks being more common than narrow. Even in Georgian and Colonial buildings wide planks were the norm, not the exception. The Auld Grump, who needs to dig up the details on the prefab housing... been a while. |
