Hi, all. I'm getting ready to build the garage door track kitbash for my Mayhem garage. I'm wondering if anyone has any current pics that show some detail on building it? I searched for old posts but only came up with some pic links that don't work anymore. Can anyone help me out? Luckyjoe |

Lucky Joe, this is not an easy kitbash to make. I have used it in my build of the Mayhem Garage but I am certain it is not in the way the creator intended. There are two bars at right angles to the main frame. I had no idea what their purpose was so I cut them off and used the L-frames upside-down i.e. with one edge perpendicular to the sides of the garage door and the other edge perpendicular to the roof. My door does roll up and down and when in place hooks in place to the two door slides via a thin strip of card slightly wider than the width of the door opening that I stuck to the very top of the garage door. It took some figuring out to make it work. Photos would show you much clearer what I'm talking about but I don't own a camera yet. I will be getting one for my birthday in November and after I figure out how to work it and post pictures I'll be supplying lots of pics to the forum. I know this isn't much of a help at the moment so perhaps someone wiser than me can advise you better. I should point out that I glue all my models to mounting card (very strong card just over 1mm thick) which I found immensely useful in building such a fiddly piece of gear. This is one kitbash that definitely should have come with instructions. |

I'd like to help you out but I never was able to figure that bash out or find a way to use it. I ended up just giving up on it. Tiny waste of money, big waste of time. Good luck with it. Luckyjoe |

Sorry for the seriously delayed response. I tracked down the images they were originally on Sawhat's post. They are below: Garage door closed: Garage door open: Garage door inside: Garage door inside, close up: I hope that helps. Arabin |

Excellent. Glad I still had them to share. I always try to save the images from kitbashes as the instructions are usually limited. Arabin |

Hey Arabin, you wouldn't still have pictures of Pixie's bash of Battleships using items from First Light, do you? I found the thread but most of the pictures aren't there anymore. I probably am not remembering the exact name of the game. It had cards that you laid out to configure your ship. |

I wish I had those Battlestation kitbash images. I remember following that thread avidly, but unfortunately I didn't save the images from that one. Hopefully Pixiefrog will return someday soon and repost the images. Have you tried PMing him? Arabin |

Thanks for looking, LJ. Well spotted on the roof vents of the armoury. I'd forgotten all about them. They are indeed 3-D and couldn't be easier to build. Here's how. Cut out the vents from the roof very carefully. Stick them on top of a plastic counter and then stick that onto the roof. I get my counters from em-4 at http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/Counters.html although you could probably find them in a craft store. The beauty of the counters is that you don't have to worry about cutting a perfect circle and they come in a variety of sizes and colours. I think the ones that I used for the roof vents were 12mm in diameter and they were white in colour. |

Wow, Vampifan. I love seeing your models. They are so very excellent. You definitely do go the extra mile, or three. Your garage door kitbash is beautiful. Did you use your mounting board technique to make the frame? It looks a lot thicker than cardstock. I've been taking your example to heart and adding more 3-D elements to my 15mm Mayhem build. Not the extra maile, more like another 100 yards. ![]() What's up next? I'd love to see how you did the Shellendrak-based rowhouses. And thank you for the link for the plastic counters. Those look like they'd also come in handy for bases for 15mm minis. Luckyjoe |
