Well I've been playing with making hedges. Unfortunately none of hinterland bushes offer a tile able texture. So I couldn't make a kitbash. But SteveRB11 posted a link to a web texture site. http://cgtextures.com/ One of their hedge textures looks alright tiled. Not great but usable. With it I made simple hedges 2" high x 1" wide" and cut into any length up to 7" long. I did try to alter the texture a bit to make it look more like a hedge row. I used the dodge tool to highlight the top edge. I shaped the bottom edge to give it the uneven base where the trunk meet the dirt. Then I applied dirt to give the square base. And then used the burn tool to add shadows to the base. I think it looks alright but I may go back and add more highlights to the top and show the dirt a bit more for the whole of the base. Like I said though since it uses nonWW textures I couldn't submit it as a kitbash. But it should be easy enough for someone else to duplicate it if they want. |

For a regular hedge perhaps. But the hedge mazes are very regular, although usually curved rather than straight up and down. |

Just to remind everyone...the hedge maze is something we're looking at doing, and thus likely wouldn't be brought on board as a kitbash. Feel free to pursue it for your own interests, but be forewarned that it's not something that's likely to get adopted. |

The one I posted couldn't be submitted anyway because the textures are something I took from another site. It does okay for those who want to have something now and are willing to make their own. But its a far cry from WW quality. So I'm definitely looking forward to WW making a good one. Also a gazebo, green house, small plants and flowers, topiary, etc.. So that'll be released soon right?

And it's official...the colored bushes are now out and available: LD2062 is at it again! Summer, Fall or even Alien lands, this kitbash provides the foliage. A small standalone bush and a 3.5" hedge are included in fall colors (orange, red, yellow), flowery colors (pinks, purples) and alien colors (shades of blue)...10 variations in all! |
