I dont call this a kitbash because i made and designed it myself but dont know where else to put it.

It is a mattress. I thought i wanted more props in the apartment, and did not like the fact that the foldup bed on the wall was only 1D so i made one.

Thinking about putting some stains on it to make it look old and warn.

Sorry the photos are so crappy, used my iphone, but i put a mattress label and handles on the side.

Maybe a box spring ? Could just all the same textures but on the 'bottom' put in the wood frame.

Good idea, I will work on a box spring next. As i take a break from trying to put together a prison.

An idea for your prison.... might be able to kitbash the fantasy bunkbed kitbash =) Make it into a more modern prison bunk bed. Could re-use your matrest textures. Fold / cut / score design should be the same as the fantasy bunkbed. I bet you could whip one up!

I aged the mattress and threw some pretty nasty stains on it, as well as made a box spring Thank Morganm for the idea.

Wow, that mattress is nasty! That being said, I love the fact that you made one. Definitely a nice prop for inside buildings or for something to add to the trash. What else have you done/are planning on doing? Post pics if you can.

Well I am right now working on a bed frame, not sure how well it will come out. Other then that not sure. I think I will do more apartment props, easier then doing a large project like a prison which i keep getting overwhelmed with, but for some reason my city needs one. (bad crime problems.)

I have noticed that my apartment is missing a restroom, so I might try to fix that.

Nice work! I'd definitely be interested in getting that mattress. I also run a d20 Apocalypse game and would love an even more rotten/distressed mattress, maybe with some rusty springs showing and dirty scraps of fabric hanging off of it, as if it had been out in the weather for a decade or two.

Something that would fit well in a room like this.

Oh, and you know what's funny? I was washing my car tonight at the local carwash and guess what I saw right beside the dumpster? A mattress and box spring! Sheesh, I must live in a ghetto...

Yeah, that where i got the idea to place it next to a dumpster, from walking thru the allys of downtown.

I love it man; great work on the texture maps... those stains are so gross! The box spring really completes the set of props.

Nice! I believe somebody else suggested it in another thread for TLX, but couldn't you make several layers in the PDF for the blood, bile, and other stains? Then just turn on/off those layers before you print, so you could have anything from a pristine mattress to one covered in gross.

But gross is so much more charming!

Sure that way you can have a mattress store with new ones and then throw some old ones outside.

thats funny you say that i was thinking about putting a gun or some bags of week or crack on the top of the box spring as if it was hidden under the mattress, but decided not to in case i wanted to stand the box spring up next to a dumpster.

While I was at "Archivers" looking at their manual perforator wheels I saw some neat bits. One of them was al ittle baggy of tiny dollars; great detail and just about the right size. They were cheap enough that it was proably more cost effective to buy them than make, print, and cut your own.

Yes, I felt the need to qualify why I was hanging out in Archivers... No I was not holding my wife's purse
