Any suggestions on how to go about creating a lightning rail? I have very little capability when it comes to artistic kitbashing. I do have access to both Photoshop and GIMP. Here are some reference images: |

If i were doing this I would do a physical kit bash. Use as the basis of the train cars, and then use different walls say some Thoumont's for the train walls. |

I'd also second the suggestion for making a clear base that it sits on. Having helped my daughter make a levitating car using magnets for a science project, I can attest that it's tricky and not very stable. |

Clear flying base seems to be the simplest part. Make 2 or 3 hexagonal or circular cylinders about a 1/2" to an inch tall depending on the pyramid sizes that are the same diameter as the width of car bottom out of thick transparency. That should give you both stability and strength. |

I didn't add walls to my lightning rail. I just printed out the floorplans I made up (which I don't have anymore). |

I've got a suggestion for the engine and train car bodies... Why not use the battlecruisers from Wormhole? Or the Carriers from Versus? |

Thank you. I don't know that there's much else to be said really. Everyone else seems to have the track design figured out, it was just the cars themselves that needed a solution. Though I would think that by the point you put it all together, you no longer have a kitbash, you have a whole new project.... ![]() |
