Post subject: | Thoumont's roofs in Skittles form: A call for recipes |
Hello all, Just got TLX Thoumont's because those roofs were just calling me and calling me (^_^). That said, I've added to my calendar the need to add some more colors. But I wonder if someone here hasn't already? If so, would you mind posting up your color mix "recipes"? I know that some people use Photoshop, while others use Paint.net or what have you, but at least seeing some different techniques/numbers will give me a realistic pre-tested range of color that I can play with. I'll be happy to do the same when I start sampling the rainbow. (^_-)v Thank you in advance for your help! |

Well, I decided to play a little. I REALLY want a nice mustard color. Unfortunately, just playing with color adjustment wouldn't do it (not with blue as the base!). Anyway. Here's what I made today, next to the original image: I think I'll make it a bit darker and call it good! (^_^) It's just about exactly what I wanted! |

I dug up the pieces I started working on. I had saved out some images for green and brown roof pieces: But I did a pretty lousy job of organizing the files. Really, all I did was create a couple color presets, then I created a selection range on each roof page that encompassed the whole exterior roof area, and applied the color presets one after another, saving the image out each time. I just lost interest after a while. ![]() |
