Inspired by you folks...and especially by Spoo...for the excellent planner for word...I got to work on putting together a deckplan for my second build. Still relatively simple...but with a few Kitbasjing things to practice on...esp doors and stuff ![]() http://wwgallery.pcinfoman.com/index.php?cat=10067 Upper and Lower Decks in my gallery...not sure how to post the pics directly here yet. The gaps on the Upper Deck will be capped...and Im thinking about setting them up as "concealed storage".Perhaps a half deck to act as a crawlway and some ducting made of straws as concealment/dressing...I will see what i come up with ![]() Everything else should just be minor changes to the doors...I hope ![]() Let me know what you think folks ![]() |

Here we go...not perfect...but it will give you an Idea of what im going for ![]() Edit...updated the lower Deck to include 2 more tubs...Intention is to add an engine unit to each of the tubs as Lift/control engines. Im wondering if I can mount them so that they can rotate vertically 90 to 180 degree's....Yes I'm getting more ambitious...lol |

Looks like a very cool layout! Can't wait to see it built. If you feel like sharing in-progress shots, all the better! ![]() |

I will definately post shots of it as a WIP...once I get the First Light out of the way (maybe get it done this next week *x* ) |

Right...Been in a major design mode today (my reward for almost finishing my first build last night) Bridge has been modified and printed out...ready to build. New deckplans drawn up to reflect bridge redesign and all doors and windows have been placed correctly...I hope ![]() This has go to be a military ship...Im thinking a Marine transport..too big and too many guns for a Merchantman. Spoo...now im learning a little more on how to use that Design tool of your I am even more Impressed. |

Finally got some time to restart my build...had to make quite a few "little" modifications..and one major change...which has taken a lot of reworkking...but should be worth it ![]() ( combined the mid deck cargo bays into one big , double high bay..With a raised walkway through it for the upper deck access) Will post a modified deck plan, and pics of the build probably tomorrow...I'm just glad to be back on track ![]() |

Solospirit - I like the deckplan, a lot. One question - I see the elevators, but do you have any stairs or ladders in case of a power faliure? I have Blood & Space; its okay. Not great, but not bad by any stretch. Dragonstar also has Starship construction rules, but its getting harder to find it. A friend of mine bought a copy of the Serenity RPG at Gencon for me, and I just got it this weekend. Its worth checking out as well; its very light on the actual phyiscal build rules for ships, concentrating more on the story end, but it does have a few cool deckplans in there (including a pretty cool 5 deck luxury passenger liner). There are a few companies that do deckplans at RPGNow. Most I haven't been impressed with, but the UKG Publishing are pretty good (IMO). |
