You might not even need to color the cab differently, if you integrate it into the backstory. For example, it could be a reconditioned cargo hauler from a shipyard, and thus a yellow cab was a safety feature. Hmmm... a shipyard... |

Lol...a shipyard huh?...So guess who has been looking through Arena Works...and thinking....docking bay . A yellow cab dropship ...If I did that I would want to put Taxi cab chequer marks on the side..I bet its just the thing a bunch of drop troops would do ![]() |

Hmm... now you've got me thinking about space construction equipment! Kitbash some robot arms, use the base for Mel's as a huge gripper hand... Must... resist... |

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to resist doing that one, though. It's not as if I don't have enough kitbash ideas on my plate as it is, and I don't really play much SF at all. Plus I'd have to buy the Gun Platform model to start with... Fun to contemplate, though! Don't think it would work indoors, unless you shrink down the gripper: the Gun Platform is listed as 74x85 mm, so that's about 3 inch already! At full scale, this would be more something that could maneuver an entire cargo bay in place on a long-haul freighter, or help in ship construction. The arm itself could be made from two kitchen towel cardboard tubes. Create a functioning ball joint by taking a plastic ball that's just too large for the tubes (pingpong ball? not sure that would fit), then string an elastic from the inside of one tube, through the ball, to the inside of the second tube. No... please... make it stop! ![]() |

Skull cove has a cool little derrick - you could easily use that in a cargo bay - perhaps retexture it with one of the FL metallic textures. |

I didnt realise it was that big Conail...maybe a tad too big for my plans for the ship...for a docking bay...definately worth a thought ![]() Robby...thats a very good possibility..How long is the arm?....NM...just took a look ...maybe a little too chunky for inside a 'bay I was thinking about a 'bash of the big turret...with some sort of motive unit instead of the base...and "arms " instead of the laser barrels. Oh and Outlaw...there is a "seat" portion for the new chairs in Retrofit...mount that Under instead of over...and you have your seat plinth. Isn't it amazing how much we miss in these sets? ![]() |

That's a real good start. Just the essentials, could even shorten the bridge more too or raise it up or leave it and double the cargobay height. Ya, lots of options. Kitbash I have been thinking about is to reduce the Rx's to 2" height and single exhaust. This would allow more options in placement of rooms and double rooms/levels around or over them. |
