Post subject: | Mars Station |
Since I'm getting back into WH40K I thought I needed some proper Sci-Fi scenery. So I purchased of poster board for my table. I have opened up my Mars Station in Photoshop and I'm making 8 borderless sheets of Mars Station tiles. These tile will then be printed out on Label paper and placed on the Mat Board. I have edged, or framed the mat board with black electricians tape first to keep it from getting dinged up. I then place the 8 sheets on the mat board and I have a full playing mat to use for my games. I just placed two sheets on and it looks fine. I only wish there where more crater tiles then just the one. I will have to distort them in Photoshop to make them appear different. Once I'm done making my 4 playing mats I will start to create my bases for the industrial area which will consist of Mars Station and all the PCON sets. I will be placing them on A3 size PVC Board so I can mix and match. I must say that when I first saw a sheet of A4 paper I thougth how strange it was. But now being over here and seeing how well it works when dealing with all the A series it is more helpful for gaming boards!!! The other side of the Gaming mat will be Hinter lands. After that I will get 4 more and do Hellworks on one side and either Atlantis or Seaworks on the other. I will post some pictures when I get more than two pieces on. |

I just found out that the standard ink cartridges for my new printer only holds 4ml of ink each! So I'm going through ink like crazy. I just ordered a double pack from a website but they hold 19ml of ink. Hopefully this works for me! I got half a board done (four A4 sheets) and it looks good! I can't wait to start on the rest of them. Well done Paul! I would not mind some advice on my layouts from Paul and . Still in the planning stages right now. |

I'm gong to have to kitbash some platforms/Ramps/Stairs as the PCON Oustpost 105 is Taller than the standard PCON sets. This is something that may have been mentioned in the product description. 3 5/8th inch in height on all of them. That is a bit odd. So I need to make a ramp or stairs to fit from normal PCON to Outpost 105 ![]() I'm using the bulk heads from PCON Battlegrounds. Those really look great! I'm trying to recreate a model I saw in a White Dwarf using elements from PCON and Mars Station. More on that later. |

Looking forward to your project, that's kind of the direction I'm planning too. ![]() I was planning on using the stairs from Battlegrounds, they are 0.75" high each so three stairs equals 2.25", the same as a 2" wall with the 0.25" foamcore on top. ![]() |

I want to keep the discussion about the layout here. It still needs a lot of work. I need to blend it in better. |
