- Five main classes of entries - small, medium, large, unique (no size restriction), and restricted (different topic each year, chosen by forum participants).

- Each contestant gets one vote in each category (except for their own entries).

- Anything goes, as long as the project consists at least 70% of Hirst Arts blocks.

- Dimensions, description of molds used, construction, special materials, etc.

- Custom blocks count (towards the 70%, I assume) as long as the original block had a genesis from a Hirst Arts original.

- Pictures of construction process, total block count, specific blocks used etc. are encouraged.

If we have a skill-based tournament, I'm ready to kill on square towers for CWU. I don't think I've seen any other kitbashed designs for or !

Hmmm, definitely better as seperate categories. While I kitbash a good deal, and do a fair amount of cobbling different sets together I am elbows at graphics programs.

On the other hand, such a system of free kitbash distribution (let alone a subscription service) is still a pipedream right now. Whereas there are already a couple of items that could go straight to RPGnow today if they were being sold separately. Heck, put them up for sale now, and give customers a discount once the whole who-bought-what has been figured out!

As for giving the impression that the WWG sets are incomplete... I just don't buy that! Obviously, the kitbashed items would be very clearly marked as such. People will know they're buying optional extras created by the fans. And once there's enough of these, Denny can bundle them into an expansion set. I don't hear anyone complain that FL is incomplete, just because there's an expansion set that just came out for it...

Another question for Grump: So how do you feel WWG should deal with small fan-created items that have a certain "Doh!" factor (as in "Doh - that should really have been in the set!"), such as the CWU square tower?

Should they hold on to them for months on end until they've assembled a large enough set with a similar theme? Should they just give them away (possibly undermining the larger sets)? Should we all just wait another year or more until they've figured out how to give them away to those who already own the set? (If so, what about kitbashes that combine elements from multiple sets?)

How about this for another compromise: kitbashes become available for sale on an individual basis, until there's enough to form a $7-8 set. Once the set is out, the individual items are removed. This way, at any one point there'd be only a few months worth of single items for sale, the rest are all included into larger sets.
