Heh, this is exactly why I'm so picky about the forums I post on. Since it's conception the WW's forums only real flame war here was over mechs/robots/transformers, with little insulting thrown about. It is once again sad to see gamers trying to undermine gaming period, be it system, terrain, miniatures, etc... sigh .

Denny, I'm glad to hear you and the designer of "Xombies Attack" are communicating and have good respect towards each other. I am sad to see any gamer sink to such depths as to get personally involved in what isn't really about them as it reflects badly on all of us gamers, maybe us posters need to remember that things go down much smoother with honey than veiled insults. There is only one forum etiquette in general, and that is to be polite and fair all around, or at least apologizing if posts get a bit out of hand (barring personal site rules which we follow because we hit the agree button when we read the contract that allows us to create our accounts), it is surprising that most people just brush any form of politeness out the door the moment they encounter something they don't like. I used to post on "online game" forums all the time, they were insulting, flaming and just plain rude no matter how I looked at it. I stopped posting for ages, and it took me a long time to accept the WW's forums even after reading all the posts here but it is the only online forum I don't regret joining to date (though I'm sure there are at least a few others). I do read other forums but unless I see the a similiar behavior to what I see here on these forums I don't even show an inkling to signing on and posting, just to later be insulted because someone doesn't like how I said something or doesn't agree with my opinions or likes , gets a little tiring, y'know

I hope you and Steve do find a way to work together in the future, not that WW's isn't already producing fun easy to play games where the only real work involved is building cool terrain. I also hope that your not the only one to take the high road and this turns from a flame war on the other forum into something beneficial for everyone involved, from the "Xombies Attack" creator (Steve), too "WWG's", too "BoardGameGeek", and most especially too us the gamers and posters rather than continued pointless flaming. I also hope that reason is found and that post you quoted gets edited to be much more friendly to all involved including the poster as it really doesn't reflect well on him/herself.

Currently, this has been insulting and bad publicity for "BoardGameGeek", "Xombies Attack", and "WWG's". I myself am not too impressed with "BoardGameGeek" due to the posts I'm seeing there. Any post there should be supporting games, not putting ANY of them down. Best of luck to all three of you, I hope that this ends up reflecting well on all of you in the end.

This is one of the few forums I still frequent, and the only one I really post on anymore. It seems on just about all forums (except this one) every conversation turns into an arguement and all the posters start foaming at the mouth. Very bizarre, but probably to do with the annoymity. People feel they can say anything because it's just an online name... they can have a new name next week.

It's a credit to the WWG crew, and the customers, that this place has remained a comfortable place to hang out for some time. Sure, there have been a few bumps, but most forums have more bumps in a day than WWG has had in years.

Yeah Smokey, I'm a Cane, but I'm also a Bull cuz I went to USF as well.

I don't go to any of the games at either school, with Miami, it's just to long of a drive and I really only liked the Cane's baseball cuz of the asses that the football players were when I went to school there. Guess I shouldn't hold it against the current team as they're probably not that way.

I was there when they were national champions, but I think the title went to their heads!

Anyway, I don't even go to the Bull's games cuz I never got into the sports end of things while at USF.

As far as flame wars are concerned, I've seen that happen on many different boards, and tend not to frequent the ones where it happens. The WWG always seems like a family to me, so I visit this board at least once a day during the week and if I have time will visit on the weekend too. I just don't post as often as others do, so if you don't see me saying anything, you can pretty much figure I'm lurking!

I have been submitting some prototypes to a sculptor, and one idea (though an expensive thing for me, as I doubt their would be much other interest) is a "Michael Irving", "Warren Sapp" or "Ray Lewis" figure for zombie fighting! Considering what happened to those very big and very living thugs that jumped Lewis in Atlanta (they ended up stabbed to death), I'd say those guys would kick zombie butt!!!

Then again, I'd have to keep Irving out of the seedier parts of Mayhem (his penchant for the pipe and all) and Lewis out of Mayhem PD

Yes, I'm from Boise...the H-Bowl is the "home" bowl when BSU isn't playing elsewhere.

I wish I could tell you what the 'Canes fans were like, but I wasn't in town that weekend...I was part of the huge migration south to our first BCS bowl. Part of the concern was that with the cold, and the distance, the game would be badly attended with so many local fans out of town.

I'm VERY pleased to hear that you heard good reports back about Boise's hospitality. We've tried very hard to be good hosts to whomever comes here, and send them home with a better impression than when they came.

I don't recall hearing any complaints after getting home. A lot of (pretty negative) speculation beforehand, but nothing really afterwards.

No, every report I heard was very positive about the whole bowl experience. Some said the Canes' deserved to freeze for their sub par performances that season
