It's a niche market, but I think you are right, it could sell well if someone wrote it and found a publisher.

The biggest tips I can suggest which I have learned myself are:

- Take your time. I get excited over my builds, but if I do each piece carefully and spread the build over a couple of days, I get much better results.

- Less is more... where glue is concerned. You need to spread glue into the corners, but it only needs to be the tiniest amount. Then you need to leave it under some heavy books overnight. It'll be rock solid in the morning.

- Edge before assembly. It's much easier this way.

Other than that, as much as it sucks to hear it, practice really does make perfect. My builds are far from perfect, and I still slip while edging, but I do a much better job these days than when I began.

Have fun, and if anyone does write a book, I have no doubt it'll be mentioned here.

You might be happy to note that I have been in the process of compiling a number of new video tutorials. These happen to be associated with our coming "Wormhole" product but they cover many finer build fundamentals that may have been missed in previous video tutorials.

A book would be a very niche seller. I swear I saw one though a year or so ago at Amazon. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called but it covered many advanced paper modeling techniques.

well i guess it depends on the actual number of people downloading/building this stuff...but over at my other hobby site www.arcadecontrols.com...the site creator ending up publishing a book called "build your own arcade controls". it came with free plans and all kinds of diagrams. that may be a bigger market, but he sold that book for $20, and even though i had already built my own, i bought one anyway just to kinda say "thanks" for having the site for me to learn from.

If all developers and retailers had the same kind of love and support that the owners of this site have, the world would be a much better place! Thank you all for your consideration and thoughtful/fun remarks! Ill get more notes together over time then finally take the plunge. Its getting very close to that time now! What I have done so far has been a hoot.

Here is an excellent review on what appears to be an excellent book. Still (sigh) I want a book the drives specifically what it takes to do it for gaming. I think there are a lot of terms you all use freely that I have'nt understood well, like linkX and others. Some terms became clear when i looked at the "free downloads" and saw some pictures......Aww shucks. I just have to buy a kit and build it a few times! Then Ill see if I really need a book!

Thanks to all who have posted...but I still think the owners may want to put together a little book from their experiences and those learned form this site. Charge a few bucks to download it. I am really interested in doing all of this in foam-core, making it portable and capable of withstanding the occasional opps and gust of wind!

I know the sets are beautiful and playable as is. I know you can "secure them" well enough to a table. I know that my group will need to be able to play with them a little rougher.

There is no question. WWG has the best and most beautiful product on the market today. Im going to buy one right now. Gangs of Mega City One Minis will finally have a place to call home, or at least until someone takes their turf! My city blocks will stay fixed from turf to turf.

Enough Lurking......Ill do what I can with what I have learned from the forums.....foam core will wait.

The idea of using a set layout for each turf is a good one, and I've heard people do that before. I haven't tried it though, and always come up with a new layout each time we meet to play. Please do take photos of your builds though and share with us, as well as your games
