Oh.......My.........Gawd.......
This is almost just too much! First Gothic Realms, and now THIS!! Fantastic job on Arenaworks!! Everything looks so great, and the textures are fabulous! The scenario ideas are just popping into my head left and right. Fantastic!!!
Ok, Worldworks gurus, the big questions: When and how many sheckles? I WANT IT!!!

Hrm... one thing I noticed was that the stairs didn't have actual steps, but a 3-D graphical representation of steps. I know that the stairs shown in ArenaWorks is a simpler model to construct, but it takes away from one of the classic models incorporated into sets like CaveWorks and InteriorWorks: Pubs & Taverns.

As a gamer, I like the wide stairs as presented in earlier sets of Denny's as you can place figures on the stairs, while figures will tend to just slide right down the 'ramp' stairs of ArenaWorks.

The new set looks great ;) and will add to my every-expanding collection of your works (just missing Castle - waiting, waiting ....waiting and SeaWorks!).
Just a couple of quick items I've notice:
The roofs are grey? No tile print?
The walkway / bridge looks like it would need bracing underneath to support the weight of figures.

Your comments:

When: Under two weeks. I am busily assembling instruction sheets. So many sheets...

How Much: TBD

Are those Castleworks towers? No, they are my own. I REALLY like medieval castles and some of that love has leaked onto ArenaWorks.

Chariots? Of course! I am awaiting final approval on my design.

Building or Prop free? Maybe. Can't really think of a bit that fits...

The Horned Barbarian? Denny took him to the wilds of British Columbia. I have about 60-70 figures, most of them vintage and freshly painted. You will see a lot of them...I'll have to pick an official mascot!

Stairs: A legit concern. However, I built prototypes with 3 notched stairs but they looked..clunky.

Gray Roofs: The camera set-up in my lab kind of burned out the texture there. I have to un-learn all my 35mm experience! The awnings are tan canvas, they were originally much larger but they got in the way too much. I have tiled Mediterranean type roofs on the structures.

Strength of the bridge: I was hoping someone would ask this! You can cut out the triangular areas below the handrail or leave them in. I tested the design using standard 110lb paper. Over a four inch gap, the "uncut" bridge took 11 figures at which point it was basically full. I kept piling figures up until I had 23 of them in a big heap and could fit no more on at which point I called off the experiment. Keep in mind that this was the "weak" version, the bridge was bending precipitously at this point. So unless you are using more than a dozen or so figures you should be all right...

I'll be hanging around this thread as I have time.

Oh, Man. This set looks incredible. And just what I need, too.
(I play Gurps Fantasy, set mostly in Megalos, And have been dying to lay out the arena. Come to think of it, with This set and Dungeon/Gothic works, I could play out The Adventure Fighters of The Purple Rage, in Gurps fantasy Adventures.)
I only have 2 questions.
1. WHEN?!
2. How Much? (Not that it matters.)

Well, I guess Paul answered this one already, but you definitely need a mascot of some variety - as you can tell from some recent threads 'the horned one' has virtually developed a fan club of his own ;D

I have to say that this set looks AWESOME. Not just great, but AWESOME - even moreso since it was completely unexpected!! This is great!!

Can't wait :)

Duly impressed...and very interested in picking up Arenaworks once it goes on sale.

However, I have to add my own voice to those who have objected to the "pretty, yet non-functional" stairs. Could you, perhaps, get the go-ahead to include both in the set? Some might want the more "realistic" appearing ones as pictured, but I, for one, have no particular use for stairs if I can't put the minis on them ascending and decending. I even made my own custom, functional stairs up back in the days of the original Dungeonworks.

The set looks great, and I'll take it as is. I do have one little thing I would like to see "fixed". The inside walls of the tower ramparts... with such a wonderful model it's kind of glairing when you look at the tops of the towers (same issue with castle works... Sorry Denny). Couldn't you have detailed backs to the crenulations? Very similar to the castle walls in Castleworks?

It would only cut maybe a quarter of an inch off the height of the tower and would look better visually.

I'm with the seeming majority (I think) in wanting step-step stairs as opposed to ramps. Ramps definitely have their place and should probably be left in the set, but steps are a must.

Maybe the ramps could just have a top-to-bottom wood grain texture? Like planks, or whatever.

Off to buy more ink cartridges in anticipation!
