OK, I can't stop watching the video...I am going to pause my other project for this.

Aside from a foam-core free system, would other material work? I use chipboard (.08 and .045 usually) as I suck at cutting foam-core.

edit: What exactly does "AUTOMATED MACHINE CUTTING COMPATIBLE!" mean? Does this mean we will be provided with the images needed to create our own files for our device of choice or will those files already be created for us? Not that it matters, but it would definitely influence my decision to buy a cutting machine.

After the infamous hard drive failure, I checked and rechecked and rechecked this site, desperately hoping for news. Finally, a year or two ago, I just gave up in sullen resignation.

And lo! Today I get an e-mail telling me Himmelveil is just around the corner! You can't imagine my joy. It's even making me figure out how to con...er...conVINCE my wife to get a cutting machine.

This looks absolutely fantastic! I'm looking forward to September 1st with great anticipation.

Lakoda - I'm not sure what your budget is but you can usually ask your local art store that sells foamcore to cut it to size for you. My local one (which is expensive) is charging me $50 labor to cut around 350 pieces of foamcore in varying sizes (some 7x7, some 6x6, some 3x6 and some 3x3, all in inches). Of course you have to buy the foamcore as well ($50 is not the entire cost) but my feeling is $50 is worth me not spending many, many hours cutting that much foamcore myself.

I'm sure you don't want to disclose prices yet but lets say I had $40 exactly to spend on WWG products.... would that buy both streets & sewers products? Or would I be a little short on covering the cost of both sets?

They disclosed prices in one of these threads already. Assuming that Canals is prices like Streets and Sewers, you'll be able to buy all three for $40.

Yup. Denny said $11.95 per set is going to be the base price on the TerrainLinX sets. Gotta say thats a heck of a deal.

All I know is that the system is going to be awesome for building. a lot of my dilemma on building since the demise of my Mars Station board is how to come up with a modular system that didn't require another board and velcro.

Now all I have to do is build a building, put it on some basing, and the basing will fit with other stuff and STAY TOGETHER!

I guess a HUGE THANK YOU is in order for all those that worked on this. It is going to be the catalyst to me actually building again.

CCotD, I totally agree. This really is the best thing to come along in years in paper terrain. I can't wait to see how its adapted to modern. Honestly should not be too difficult!
