Mel - excellent point on lack of strength in a curved model! I hadn't really taken that into account, because I don't have any experience using 3D paper critters in-game. (Unlike yourself, who has to deal with these issues every day, of course. ) Easy enough to resolve with some internal bracing, but that naturally adds yet another level of complexity...


As for your other comments - well, I didn't actually say that designing smoothly curved models would be easy, did I?

It's just that Denny's textures are so amazingly high quality, that I feel he could spend a larger fraction of his time and effort working on getting the underlying geometric designs to a similarly high level. Not just interms of realism, but really in terms of tradeoff between realism and buildability.

Easy to design. Easy to build. Realistic. Pick any two. I'm hoping that Denny will push a little harder on the thrid one, at the expense of the first, without compromising on the second.


I'm sorely tempted to kitbash some of Denny's dragon textures onto one of the Yamaha bodies though. That should be a fun exercise.

I thing that is more like "taste this and then see what you can do" and I belive is a good idea...and with great art...I don't see problems with the prespective (maybe I'll have to eat my words the first day I put that on a table...but for now I'm sold)... And the dragon...I belive is a plus...not the center of the set...so hope to build one and see how it looks...

In the foam term... I don't know but If you want to have use of the Linx aspect I supose you have to mount it in foam (lately I'm making a lot of tiles only with "hard papper" on the base but the problem then is get them together...I'm more or less getting it (someday I'll post a photo) but the Linx will be better and quickly I suppose...

To the dismay of many (and the glee of being right about Denny's infamous release date flubbers) I had a personal situation pop up yesterday that completely threw me off a very tight schedule. This is why I'm still awake at 6:00 AM trying to catch up. I'm currently tying up instructions at this point while I simultaneously work on promotional materials.
